iPad Backup SLOWEST EVER

I have been experiencing EXTREMELY SLOW BACKUPS on the iPads. Anyone else having problems and want to share?

I just sync'd my iPad with my MacBook Pro in 2 minutes. Since my MacBook is backing up with Time Machine, I consider my iPad backed up (?). During the sync, the computer informed me that it failed to connect with iTunes, so that may have reduced the sync time. No complaints here!

We've been on the road in our motorhome for 4 months and we use the iPad Google maps in Hybrid to find our way around towns we're in. We hone in on the RV park we're in and then expand to all our surroundings. It's amazing how much interesting stuff we find on the map, then cruise around to see whatever looked worthwhile. That includes restaurants and other services we can use.
